01. Brother HL-L2321D Installation

Unpack

  • Unpack the product box and take out the printer and all the components you received along with it.
  • Your package includes the Brother HL-L2321D printer, Starter toner cartridge, installation disk, power cord, quick setup guide, and a product safety guide.
  • Take out all the protective coverings and packing tapes from the printer and its components. Make sure not to unpack the toner cartridge until you are ready to install them.

Toner cartridge installation 

  • Open the Brother printer’s front cover and pull out the preinstalled drum unit.
  • Then, take out the supplied starter toner cartridge, insert it into the drum unit, and press it until it fits in its place.
  • Insert the drum unit and the toner cartridge assembly into the printer, press it firmly, and close the printer’s front door.

Load paper

  • Extend the paper tray from the printer and slide the paper width and length guides towards the edges.
  • Then, take a stack of paper, fan, and align them neatly.
  • Then, insert it into the paper tray with the print side facing down and slide the paper width and the length guides against the paper.

Turn on your printer

Take out the supplied power cord, connect one of the ends to the rear of the printer and the other end to an electrical socket.

  • Then, turn on your Brother printer by pressing the Power button.
  • Now, choose your preferred language.

Software installation

  • Take out the CD-ROM given along with the printer and insert it into your computer's CD drive.
  • If your computer doesn't have a CD drive, you can download the printer driver from the Brother website.
  • On your computer, launch your default browser, and visit the official support page of Brother.
  • In the search area, type Brother HL-L2321D and press Enter.
  • It’ll show you a list of products related to your search. Choose your printer model, and it will take you to the product support page.
  • On the product support page, from the list of options, click Downloads.
  • On the Downloads page, it will detect your OS and show you the recommended drivers for the detected OS. You can also change the OS according to your preference. Choose your preferred OS family, its version, and press the OK button.

  • Open the front door of the printer.
  • Install the drum unit and the toner cartridge assembly into its holder and press it until it fits in its place.

Load paper

  • Pull out the paper tray entirely out of the printer.
  • Slide the paper guides towards the edges.
  • Fan and align the paper neatly and load them into the paper tray with the print side facing down.
  • Slide the edge guides against the paper and insert the paper tray completely into the printer.
  • Make sure not to load the paper more than the indicated limit.

Connect the power cord

  • Connect the power cord to your Brother printer and an electrical socket. Then, press the Power button on your printer to turn on your printer.

Software installation and wireless setup

Take out the installation disk given along with your printer and insert it into the CD drive of your computer. 

When the Brother screen appears on the screen, double-click the CD-ROM icon and run the start.exe file. Then, install the downloaded driver on your computer by following the on-screen instructions.

If your computer doesn't have a CD drive, download the appropriate printer driver recommended for your OS from the official support page of Brother. In your browser, visit the official support page of Brother. In the search field, type Brother HL-L2350DW and press Enter. Then, download an appropriate driver recommended for your OS. Once the download is concluded, you can access it in the destination folder. Open the downloaded folder, run the setup file, agree to the license agreement, and install it on your computer just by following the on-screen prompts. Once the connection is successful, the Connect the machine screen will be displayed on the computer. Select your preferred connection type and follow the on-screen steps accordingly.

If you are connecting your printer to the wireless network, make sure to connect your printer to the same network to which your computer is connected.

  • You can connect the Brother HL-L2350DW printer wirelessly using Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Direct, and WPS.
  • For connecting your printer to the wireless network using the WPS method, on your printer, press the Menu button and go to the Network option using the up and down arrow buttons; then, press the OK button. 
  • Then, navigate to the WLAN option and press the OK button.
  • Then, navigate to the WPS option and press the OK button. Now, on the printer's LCD screen, “WPS Enable?” will be displayed; choose Yes.
