01. Epson Wf 4820 Setup

Do you have a new Epson WF-4820 printer? Then, complete the basic setup for it within a few minutes by following these procedures.

Unboxing the printer:

Installing the ink cartridges:

• Lift the scanner unit and lock it into place.
• Gently shake the ink cartridges before you unpack them.
• Open the cartridges and remove the yellow protective tapes from them.
• Insert each cartridge into the holder.
• Make sure to insert the cartridge completely into the printer head holder.
• Lower the scanner unit.
• Now, the ink charging begins automatically.

Loading print media:

• Once you have completed the ink charging process, lower the control panel and pull out the paper cassette.
• Slide apart the paper guides in the paper cassette.
• Fan a stack of legal plain paper before you load them into the cassette.
• Adjust the paper stack with the paper guides.
• Refix the paper cassette into the printer and lower the output tray.
• Remember to pull out the output tray extension.
• Raise the printer control panel and choose the correct paper settings on the LCD.

Fax setup:

• If you wish to add a fax to your printer, tap Proceed to set up the fax.
• Connect one of the ends of a telephone line cord to your printer’s LINE port.
• Make sure to connect the other end of the telephone line cord to a wall jack.
• Carry out the instructions provided by the printer LCD to complete the fax setup.

Downloading the printer software:

Verify that your printer is not connected to any computer. Use the provided CD-ROM to run the driver installation process on your computer. If your computer doesn’t support the CD-ROM, get the driver from the official Epson site by following these steps.

• On your computer, open the default browser.
• Ensure that the Internet connection is stable.
• Go to the official Epson site and enter ‘Epson WF-4820’ in the search field.
• Click the Search button and select the printer model from the search result.
• Expand the Downloads tab and wait until your OS version is detected.
• If your OS version is not detected automatically, click the Operating System drop-down menu and choose your OS version.
• Click GO and wait until the driver packages for your printer are displayed.
• Select the required driver package and click the Download button.
• Wait until the download is completed.

Installing the printer software:

• Run the driver installation using the provided CD-ROM or the downloaded driver package.
• On Windows, click Yes if the device prompts for User Account Control.
• On Mac, enter the administrator password in the available field and click Continue if you are asked to give permission to run the driver file.
• Accept the license agreements and click Next.
• Install the required printer software by selecting them in the driver installation wizard.
• Choose your connection type from the following options.
• Wireless connection
• Direct USB connection
• Wired network connection
• Based on your connection type, the setup wizard will prompt instructions. Follow those instructions and establish the connection between your printer and computer.
• Once the connection is made, complete the rest of the instructions in the setup wizard and print a test page.
• If necessary, add your printer to your computer.
• Finally, verify the printer functionality.

02. Installation of Epson WF 2860

If you are setting up the Epson WF-2860 printer for the first time, these steps will guide you to make it simple and error-free.

Unboxing the printer:

• Start by taking out the printer from the package.
• You will get the following supplies.
• CD-ROM
• Power cord
• User guide
• Ink cartridges
• Take these supplies out of the package.
• Remove the packing materials from the outside of the printer.
• Open the scanner unit and remove the protective materials from the inside of the printer.
• Lower the scanner unit and proceed to give life to your printer by turning it on.

Configuring the basic settings:

• Connect your printer to a wall outlet using the provided power cord.
• Do not connect the computer yet.
• Raise the printer control panel and press the Power button to turn on the printer.
• Select your language, country, and time on the LCD.
• You can also change the basic settings later.

Installing the ink cartridges:

• Lift the scanner unit and lock its position.
• Shake the ink cartridges gently before you unpack them.
• After unpacking, remove the yellow protective tapes from the cartridges.
• Insert each cartridge into the holder according to the color indication.
• Press down all the ink cartridges until you hear the click sound.
• Lower the scanner unit and tap Installed on the LCD to charge the ink delivery system.

Loading print media:

• Once you are done charging the ink, pull the paper cassette completely out of the printer.
• Squeeze the tab on the right and slide apart the side edge guides.
• Insert a stack of legal plain paper into the cassette after fanning them well.
• Adjust the paper stack with the paper guides.
• Refix the paper cassette into the printer and pull the output tray.
• Carry out the instructions on the LCD to select the correct paper settings.

Fax setup:

• If you wish to add fax to your printer, connect a telephone line cord to your printer’s LINE port.
• Ensure that the other end of the telephone line cord is properly connected to a telephone wall jack.
• Go to your printer’s control panel.
• Tap Proceed on the LCD to start the fax setup.
• Carry out the instructions on the LCD to complete the fax setup.

Downloading the printer software:

You can install the printer driver on your computer using the provided CD-ROM. But if your computer doesn’t support the CD-ROM, follow these steps to download the driver from the official Epson site.

• On your computer, open the default browser after ensuring that the Internet connection is stable.
• Go to the official Epson site.
• Under the Search By Product Name tab, enter ‘Epson WF-2860’ and click Search.
• Select the printer model from the search result and expand the Downloads tab.
• Check if your OS version has been detected and is displayed in the Operating System drop-down menu.
• If necessary, choose your OS version from the drop-down menu and click GO.
• Select the required printer driver from the available list and click Download.
• Wait until the download is completed.

Installing the printer driver:

• Run the driver installation process using the provided CD-ROM or the downloaded driver package.
• Agree to the EULA and click Next in the driver installation wizard to continue the setup.
• Install the required software and choose any one of the following options as your connection type.
• Wireless connection
• Direct USB connection
• Wired network connection
• If you choose the USB connection or Wired network connection option as your connection type, connect the necessary cable as per the instructions provided by the setup wizard.
• For a Wireless connection, connect your printer to your router using the instructions provided by the setup wizard.
• Once the connection is made, print a test page from your computer and verify the printer functionality.
