01. Installation of HP Deskjet 2540

HARDWARE SETUP

  • Unpack the HP printer from the carton and place it on a flat surface.
  • Open the printer’s cartridge access door.
  • Look and get rid of the packaging materials that are present inside.
  • Unpack the power cord from the sealed packaging.
  • Connect one end of the plug into the main power source and the other end into the rear side of the printer.
  • Turn on the printer.
  • Pull down the front door.
  • Unpack the cartridges from the sealed packaging.
  • Remove the protective tapes from the bottom of the cartridges.
  • Place the Black ink cartridge into the left side of the print head and make sure it clicks in place.
  • Repeat the same step for the other ink cartridges.
  • Close the front and the cartridge access door of the printer.
  • Raise the paper support from the back of the printer.
  • Place a paper stack on the input tray and adjust the paper guides according to the edges of the paper.
  • Pull the paper output tray from the front of the printer and the hardware setup for the printer is complete.

HARDWARE SETUP

  • Unpack the HP printer from the carton and place it on a flat surface.
  • Make sure the printer is within connecting distance of the wireless router and the computer.
  • Open the cartridge access door and remove the packaging materials.
  • Peel the protective tapes surrounding the printer body and discard them.
  • With the cartridge access door still open, install the ink cartridges.
  • Unpack the cartridges from the cover and remove the protective tapes.
  • Press the tri-color ink cartridge to the left slot and push it in until it snaps (repeat the same step for the black ink cartridge).
  • Close the cartridge access door.
  • Connect the power cord to the printer and the main power source.
  • Press the Power button on the printer control panel to turn on the DeskJet printer.
  • Raise the paper support tray from the back of the printer.
  • Move or adjust the paper guide to the left side.
  • Place a stack of paper on the tray and adjust the paper guide carefully.
  • Pull down the paper output tray right in front of the cartridge access door.
