INSTALLATION

01. INSTALLATION OF HP ENVY PRO 6420:

Firstly, unpack the printer and remove all the packing materials and accessories out of the box. Set the printer in a stable place where there is a strong Wi-Fi signal. Turn on the printer and complete the initial printer setup. Next, load paper into the paper tray and ink cartridges into the cartridge slots. Make sure that you have installed the ink cartridge in the right way. Once the initial setup is completed, you can connect your printer to a computer using a USB cable or over a network.

WPS setup method

This will be the easiest method to set up your printer to a wireless network.

  • Power on the HP printer.
  • Press the Wireless and Power buttons for three seconds.
  • Now, press the WPS button at the rear of your router.
  • When the HP printer is connected to the network, the blue wireless light on the printer turns solid.
  • Once you establish the connection between your printer and the router, download the printer driver on your computer.
  • Run the downloaded driver file.
  • Implement the instruction on the screen and complete the driver installation.

Clearing the jammed paper from the paper tray:

  • Take out the paper loaded into the paper tray.
  • Pull the jammed paper.
  • Use a flashlight to ensure there is no jammed paper or foreign object in the paper path.
  • If you find any, remove them immediately.
  • Press the Cancel button. Your printer will try to clear the jammed paper automatically.

Connecting the printer using the HP Smart application

If you are a Windows user, follow the steps in the given order.

  • Turn on your printer.
  • Download the HP Smart app from the official HP site.
  • Install the application.
  • Locate the Wireless button on the rear of the printer. Press and hold the button for 3 seconds.
  • Note: Complete the network setup within 2 hours, or you have to start the setup process from the beginning.
  • Open the HP Smart app.
  • Click the + sign.
  • Choose your printer model and click Continue.

  • When prompted to enter the WEP or WPA key, input the password or key.
