  • As the first step of “scan to email,” check whether your HP OfficeJet 4500 printer is connected to the computer over a wireless network.
  • Secondly, configure the “scan to email” settings. To do so:
  • Open the HP Software on your computer.
  • Go to the Scan to Email wizard.
  • Configure the scan settings as per your preferences and save them.
  • Thirdly, load the document you want to scan on your printer’s scanner glass.

  • Ensure that your HP OfficeJet 4500 printer and the computer are prepared for the scan operation.
  • Load all the pages of the document you want to print with their print-side facing up in the ADF of your printer.
  • Open the HP Easy Scan software on your computer.
  • Initiate the scan operation by referring to the instructions given under “HP OfficeJet 4500 scan to email.”
  • When your printer completes scanning all the pages of the document, a dialog box prompting you to choose the destination folder (on which you wish to save the document) and scan format will open.
  • Select the location to save the scanned document using the Where drop-down menu.
